SITE RULES I. Site Rules Welcome, and thank you for joining Total Isolation! We ask that you please respect both the admins and the members of this site, regardless of whether you are a member yourself or just a guest who is stopping by. Please do not start fights out of character or insult anyone out of character. I'm sure everyone would like this site to be a fun, worry-free, creative place and outlet where we as writers can grow in our talent. If you see a conflict happening, PM a staff member and let them know what is happening. Whoever breaks any of the rules posted here will receive one warning. Another offense results in deleting any active accounts and banishment. But that won't have to happen, will it? :3
When you register, you can sign up with any name you like -keep it clean, people-, although upon setting up your profile, please change it to FIRST MIDDLE LAST all in caps. This just makes things all neat and tidy. We ask that you finish your application within a week. That should be plenty of time. If you aren't one to finish your app in one sitting, please put the app in the section for apps in progress. When finished, please move it to the finished app section to wait for staff approval. Please allow at least two days for staff to make sure the app is acceptable; any longer than that and you can send a friendly reminder PM to an admin. :3 You may ask an admin to check your application once. We promise we'll get to it! Also, make sure you post your app in this form: LAST, first middle. If an app is not finished in one week it will be moved to the archives and an admin will retrieve it for you if you want to continue working on it. However, please bear in mind that this may hurt your chances of playing a canon. Even though you may have been active OOC, you didn't update your character app. If something dire kept you from working on it, PM a staff member and we'll figure something out. Life does come first, after all.
We have a two hundred word count. This is only to prevent one liners. Sometimes we have off days, which is understandable, but please try to keep it around two hundred or more. And please take care in your writing. It should go without saying but sometimes there are so many typos that the post is unreadable, and that's no fun for anyone. Also please maintain correct punctuation. Don't worry, we get that the rules of proper grammar and punctuation are sometimes hard to remember, but I think we all know when to use a period to end a sentence and when to capitalize letters.
One thing that drives us crazy is god-modding. Please, please don't do it. For those of you who aren't quite sure on what it is, it's basically controlling someone else's character. Just don't do it -unless you have permission from the person you are threading with-, please please please. Please do not stretch the board, either with your signatures or posts. Graphics should not be any wider than 500! There is no double faceclaiming except when there are twins. Claim your faces so you don't lose them, and if you're working on an application reserve your face! Reserves last for three days. Currently, we do not have a character limit. If you can keep up with twenty characters, go right ahead. Just don't let a bunch of them sit around doing nothing. Be wary of the gender ratios when making a new character.
If you are going to be inactive for any amount of time, please inform us before hand in the absences board. This is to ensure your characters aren't moved into the "inactive" member group and aren't deleted due to any dry spells in your posts. Any absences that aren't booked may result in just that. You may lose your character if they become inactive and will be put back on the lists for someone else to take that character in the future.
Children and whole families are allowed but please don't go crazy. If you want your character to get pregnant, please PM one of the admins first with the idea so we can make sure circumstances are okay.
Lastly, Total Isolation is rated pg-13. Mature topics are allowed as long as they comply with proboards terms. For intense situations such as gore, sexual, etc., please fade to black. If you want to take it somewhere else that's fine, but the Total Isolation staff is NOT responsible once something has left the site or is continued in PM. You all are mature, you should be able to know if you're not comfortable with something. If someone is pushing you, feel free to let an admin know or report the person pressuring you to proboards. Please follow all Proboards rules, as well.
CANON RULES
II. Canon Rules Canon characters are asked to post at least three times a week, to keep the stories and the muse flowing for all involved. Remember to post once a week if you are not canon. ISLAND RULES I. ISLAND Rules To be added once canons and other groups are settled.
