Where to begin? Well, Lawson is a very passionate man. He's willing to go all out on a project, and always wants to give 100% in everything he does. He can also be snarky and sarcastic, especially around someone he doesn't really care for or someone who is just being completely stupid. He also has a short temper and will find it hard to bite his tongue when he's getting frustrated with someone. He's learning how to control it, though. He comes across as cocky and arrogant, but he really isn't. He just has a lot of self-confidence and likes to act like a big shot even though he knows he's not. When people get to know him better, they find that he's a sweetheart and very humble. He loves to laugh and make other people laugh. He'll try his best to make someone feel better if they're down or help them feel even better if they're already in a good mood. He's also romantic and affectionate. He loves to cuddle on the couch with the one he loves and watch movies, but he'd never admit that out loud. He has to keep up some level of manliness. He wants to be able to save up enough money to one day be rich enough to live a life of luxury. Some might call him shallow, but he doesn't see any harm in wanting more from life like being able to travel anytime he wanted or having a mansion overlooking the ocean. Thanks to his own private practice, that dream seems to be coming true. History: Lawson was born in Hartford, Connecticut into a middle-class family to parents Daniel Andrews and Mary Andrews. He had only one other sibling, and that was his brother, Gabriel. During his childhood, Lawson was always arguing with his parents and friends. His parents could tell from a very early age that Lawson was going to be a lawyer or politician by the way he was so passionate about his thoughts, ideas, and beliefs. He was a straight A student in school even though during high school he goofed off at times.
During his sophomore year in high school he knew he wanted to attend Harvard Law School and become a lawyer. He worked his butt off (but again, he sometimes goofed off when he shouldn't have) and was able to earn a scholarship to Harvard Law. After moving there, he realized the work and study was more difficult than he'd thought it would be, so he knew he'd have to buckle down and get serious. No more parties for him.
He was extremely close to his brother, Gabriel. They did everything together and were practically inseparable until Gabriel met Ellen Watson in college. He'd met Ellen during the Andrews' family Thanksgiving and thought she was a lovely woman and his brother was lucky to have her. He didn't think any farther than that, though, until much later in life.
After that particular Thanksgiving, Lawson went back to school and then took the bar exam. He passed with flying colors and soon found himself with a job as a States Attorney. He worked for the state for seven years and life was pretty good… then that's when his life took a 180 degree turn. During this period of time, Lawson and Gabriel stopped talking to each other as often as they used to. It wasn't because they were upset with each other; rather, it was the fact that Lawson was busy with work and from what he'd heard, Gabriel's marriage wasn't going well.
While on a trip back home to Connecticut, he met up with Ellen at a showing of "Macbeth" and they ended up being able to sit together. They found out that they both enjoyed Shakespeare and bonded over that, then talked about other things they liked and disliked. Lawson, not thinking anything of it at the time, invited Ellen to get a drink with him. He then listened as she told him how her marriage was failing and he felt sorry for both her and his brother. But he was shocked to discover that his brother was now an alcoholic, and he felt betrayed that he hadn't told him about it.
After one too many, Lawson's mind was in a fog and he ended up taking Ellen back to his hotel room. You can guess what happened then. They both felt extremely ashamed of what they'd done and Lawson swore he'd never speak of it since it would hurt his brother so deeply. So when Lawson returned to Massachusettes he acted as though nothing had ever happened between him and Ellen.
But he began to realize that he had feelings for Ellen, and those feelings gradually grew into love over the following years. Some would say he was becoming obsessed, but he would deny it. If it was an obsession, it wasn't a sick one. Despite the urge to call her and talk to her, he didn't. In fact, he found himself hurt that neither her nor Gabriel tried to contact him in years. He wondered if she'd told his brother what had happened between them. The guilt and love he felt for Ellen eventually caused him to not be able to work like he had been, so he quit. After spending a few years teaching at a boarding school in Rhode Island, Lawson met up with Ellen again. They started dating, much to Lawson's delight, and he was feeling more hopeful. A year later he'd opened his own private practice.
Unfortunately Ellen miscarried their child and suffered from severe depression. Hating to see her like that, Lawson took her to Paris and proposed. They got married soon after that and were on there way to their honeymoon when the plane crashed. Faceclaim: Robert Downey, Jr. Made by: Loki |
